AWARENESS ON HUMAN TRAFFICKING STARTS IN DARJEELING

Mankind in Action for Rural Growth (MARG) has decided to move ahead with the awareness programme on Anti Human Trafficking in the schools and local samaj in the hills of Darjeeling with the help of Darjeeling Mary Ward Society and Ms. Maren and Team from US.
The first awareness programme was held on 26th July 2011 at the DRC Godown now converted into an auditorium of Ghoom Boys' Higher Secondary School. A documentary on Human Trafficking SOLD by MTV was screened in front of more than 300 students. The response was overwhelming with lots of questions on this issue.
A short power point presentation on the present situation on Human Trafficking in Darjeeling was presented by MARG. In the days to come MARG with its partners would be visiting all the schools colleges and the local Samaj of the hills of Darjeeling generating awareness.
